About us

Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that people's capacity can be changed for a better life.

ECBL/TENGAMARA RWANDA (Enable our Capacities for Better Life /Tengamara Rwanda) is a non-governmental organization founded in Rwanda, Nyamagabe District, by a committed team aiming to transform the lives of people by enabling their existing capacities. Its mission, then and now, is to promote meaningful change in Rwanda enabling people’s capacities and use them to help people live healthier, more productive, and have more independent lives. In a short statement, its mission is to strengthen family in order to have a better life, a life without poverty.

ECBL/TENGAMARA RWANDA (Enable our Capacities for Better Life /Tengamara Rwanda) was launched 2021 after an analysis based on the study made by its founders. A comparative study on our lives and our capacities showed that we do not live a better life according to the capacities we have. Generally, the findings showed that people have capacities which are not used to live a better life. Those capacities were said to be disabled. There came an idea to create a National Organization called “ECBL/TENGAMARA RWANDA – Enable our Capacities for Better Life /Tengamara Rwanda”.

The Founders themselves realized that they still have capacities which are disabled and not used to gain a better life as well as help others live better than it is. The decision was to have an organization that aims at helping people enable those capacities and use them in order to have a better life than what is today. This was the origin of the name of the organization now confirmed to be called ECBL/TENGAMARA RWANDA (Enable our Capacities for Better Life /Tengamara Rwanda) since it operates in Rwanda.
